Interpreting data

Analytics

What the analytics cards and charts mean, and what to check when values are missing.

Who this is for

Use this when reviewing fitness trends, compliance, recovery, or stale metric cards.

Fitness, fatigue, and form

Metric
Meaning
CTL
Longer-term endurance fitness from endurance TSS only.
ATL
Short-term endurance fatigue from recent endurance TSS.
TSB
Form: CTL minus ATL. Negative means fatigue is currently higher than fitness.
Ramp
CTL change over the last seven days, in points per week. Above +7/week is a load warning.
Compliance
Planned sessions completed over the recent window.

Supplementary training and CTL

Strength and conditioning TSS is deliberately excluded from CTL, ATL, and TSB. Its load is represented through soreness, movement coverage, completed sessions, and planner context.

This keeps endurance fitness from being inflated by gym work while still letting supplementary training affect planning.

Blank values

  • Blank CTL/ATL/TSB usually means no daily_fitness snapshot exists on or before the viewed date.
  • Blank recovery metrics can happen when the wearable has not published that field yet, when the cache is stale, or when the wearable needs reconnecting.
  • Blank HR zone distribution usually means LTHR is missing or recent activities do not include heart-rate data.
